Lightkeeper’s Watch (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is made by Kingly Clark. We built the app to be private by design: your sleep data lives on your device, and we don’t sell your information to anyone. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.
1. Health & sleep data
If you connect Apple Health, the app requests read-only access to your sleep data (sleep stages and time asleep). We use it only to:
- detect and score your nights so the game can reward you, and
- display your personal sleep report inside the app.
This data is processed and stored locally on your device. We do not use Health data for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with third parties. You can revoke the app’s access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. Using Apple Health is entirely optional — you can play by lighting the lamp manually instead.
2. Information you provide
Your sleep window, wake goal, mood ratings, and in-game progress (your town, coins and streaks) are created as you use the app and are stored on your device.
3. Optional cloud backup
The app can optionally back up your night history to our cloud service so it survives a lost or replaced device. This is off by default. Health-derived nights are only ever synced if you explicitly turn this on. If enabled, data is transmitted securely and stored to provide the backup and sync feature only.
4. Purchases
Purchases (a premium tier and coin packs) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your entitlement status; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
5. Usage & diagnostics
We may collect limited, aggregated analytics about how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened) to fix bugs and improve the experience. This does not include your Apple Health data. Where required, this is subject to your device’s tracking and analytics permissions.
6. How we use information
- To run the game and reward your sleep.
- To show your personal sleep report.
- To provide optional backup and sync.
- To operate, maintain and improve the app.
- To respond to your support requests.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the app (for example, cloud hosting and, at your request, Apple for purchases), and only as needed to provide those services, or where required by law.
8. Data retention & security
On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you enable cloud backup, you can request deletion of that data by contacting us. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
9. Your choices
- Turn Apple Health access on or off in iOS Settings at any time.
- Keep cloud backup off, or turn it on and off in the app’s Settings.
- Delete the app to remove on-device data, or contact us to delete backed-up data.
10. Children
Lightkeeper’s Watch is not directed to children under the age required by your local law (for example, 13 in the US or 16 in parts of the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
